A scarce  .75 D/B Perc Carbine to the Scinde Irregular Horse  
20" barrels. Swivel rammer hinged at Muzzle, walnut half stocked with iron mounts, butt stamped with the legend  "Scinde Irregular Horse".  Back action locks engraved "Swinburn & Son  1853. 
This pattern was designed by Gen. Jacnbs for issue to his Reg't approx  2000 were made.  The SIH were one of the most famous & hard fighting units of the Indian Army.   First issued in  1853 and remained in service until 1858 (this could be 1878??)  Although based in the southern sector of the North West Frontier the reg't also served with distinction in the Abyssian & Persian Campaigns.
