A 54-Bore Percussion Pocket Pistol by Evans. With octagonal turn-off barrel signed in script along the top-flat and engraved around the muzzle and breech, border engraved brass action decorated with foliate scrollwork and stamped ’48’ on the bottom flat of the octagonal breech, engraved dolphin hammer and thumb piece safety-catch, figured rounded butt inlaid overreach side with silver wire scrolls issuing from an engraved silver basket of foliage and with engraved silver flower-heads, leaves and clover, silver lion-mask butt-cap and vacant silver escutcheon.
