An English Dish-Hilt Rapier, Circa 1630-1640. With tapering blade cut with a shallow central fuller, stamped ‘ANDONA’ on one side and ‘FERARA’ on the other, steel hilt comprising beautifully decorated hilt, engraved with the kings head and scrolling foliage, hilt with slender bars comprising two outer side-rings that join the knuckle guard, secured with a screw at the top, the globular pommel decorated en suite, with spirally bound grip bound with twisted copper wire, a beautiful example.
