A Superb Cased Pair of Percussion Pistols by Lankester, Isle of Wight. With sighted rifled octagonal barrels, signed, ‘LANKESTER ISLE OF WIGHT’ barrels retain traces of original brown, case-hardened breeches with platinum line, foliate engraved tangs fitted with rear-sights, profussely engraved signed locks fitted with sliding safety catches, full-stocked in walnut, deeply cut with chequering at the grips with vacant silver escutcheons. Engraved steel mounts, comprising border engraved trigger guards decorated with sprays of foliage, martial trophies on the bow and pineapple finials, turned ramrod pipes with brass tipped ramrods, with concealed tips. Retaining a large amount of original colour overall; in an associated case, with bullet mould, loading rod and an unusual nipple key/spanner.
