A Pair of Silver Mounted Flintlock Cannon Barrel Pistols by Emms of Oxford. With three-stage cannon barrels, stamped below with London proofs and barrel smith mark, crowned EI. Round box-lock actions decorated with scrolling foliage and stands of arms, signed ‘W. EMMS’ to the left. Swelling walnut butts inlayed with scrolling silver wire (retaining 98% of wire) with highly unusual cast and chased butt-caps depicting a bird feeding from a flowering plant. I have not seen this design before. Foliate engraved trigger guard.
