With blued octagonal turn-off barrel decorated with a geometric band at the muzzle and breech, stamped with Birmingham proofs and ’38’, border engraved brass box-lock action, profusely decorated with scrolling foliage, signed in script, ‘SMITH’ to one side and ‘LONDON’ on the other, engraved dolphin hammer and sliding thumb-piece safety catch, swelling walnut butt inlaid over each side with silver wire scrolls issuing from a silver flower head, with further engraved flower heads and leaves, with silver lion mask butt cap and vacant silver escutcheon. A nice untouched pistol.
