A Silver Hilted Small Sword, Circa 1725. With sharply tapering blade of hollow triangular section, hilt cast and chased with classical scenes and scrolling foliage, comprising shell-guard, lobed quillon, quillon block, knuckle-guard and globular pommel with button, and grip bound in silver wire, in original vellum-covered scabbard with silver locket, chape and suspension mount, each chased en suite with the hilt, two silver suspension rings. The end of the scabbard has come loose and needs some gentle restoration.
Notes:
I can’t make out the hall-marks and makers mark on the knuckle guard or the shell-guard as they have been rubbed over time.
