A Scarce Nock Revenue Cutter Pistol, Circa 1797. With tapering brass barrel struck with London proofs towards the breech, plain steel tang, border line engraved lock, signed ‘H. NOCK’ full stocked in walnut with raised apron around the tang, fitted with a belt-hook to the left, regulation brass mounts comprising side-plate, trigger guard and butt cap.
Notes:
The previous owner notes that he has had two similar pistols in the past, both engraved with a ships name on the butt cap. This pistol has traces of engraving but it appears the name has been removed at some point.
