A Proto Mortuary Sword, Circa 1600. With tapering single edged blade, cut with a long fuller running along the back edge, double edged at the point, the sword is signed by the blade-smith within the fuller, ANDREA FERRAR, with fluted shell-guard decorated with primitively chiselled decoration of the Green Man, retaining original wire bound grip with Turks-heads. Of munition quality. A lovely example.
