A Percussion Park-Rifle by J.W. Edge of Manchester. With sighted octagonal barrel fitted with leaf rear-sight towards the breech, signed MANCHESTER along the top, foliate engraved breech tang with platinum plug, profusely engraved tang, flat steel lock plate, border engraved and decorated with scrolling foliage, the hammer decorated en suite, fitted with sliding safety catch, half-stocked in walnut cut with deep chequering at the grip and the wrist, profusely engraved steel mounts comprising butt plate. And trigger guard. The rifle has had a weighted bar added to the front end. I have not seen this before.
