A Percussion Officers Pistol of Carbine Bore by T.K. Baker, London. With browned twist octagonal sighted barrel signed in full along the top flat, foliate scroll engraved case-hardened breech with platinum line, border engraved tang, signed flat lock and dolphin hammer all decorated en suite, figured full stock with chequered rounded butt, the latter with border engraved rounded cap with hinged circular butt-trap cover decorated with a flower head, blued trigger guard with pineapple finial and decorated with foliate scrollwork on the border of the engraved bow, vacant white metal escutcheon, dark horn fore-end cap, ramrod and most of its original finish, London proof marks. 


BAKER

Thomas Kerslake is recorded at 34 St. james Street between 1846 and 1849. In 1844 he took over a patent safety gunlock of Thomas and John Seymour which was submitted to and rejected by Ordnance in 1845. He exhibited at the Great Exhibition of 1851 and in 1852 was granted Registered Design No. 3230 for a Long-spur revolver hammer.
