An Unusual Pattern 1827 Naval Officers Sword

An 1827 Pattern Naval Officer’s Sword by E.A. Seagrove of Portsea.

by E. A. Seagrove of Portsea and incorporating a ‘claymore’ blade, which was non-regulation but preferred by some officers in the 1870’s/1880’s. The blade etched with makers name and crown and royal arms within a decorative panel and crowned fouled anchor, regulation gilt brass hilt with lion head pommel, folding guard engraved with owners name, 'J.H.Jacob R.N.' in original black leather scabbard with scroll engraved mounts and two suspension rings. In good clean condition, some minor marking to the blade.
