A Pair of Large 16-Bore Flintlock Pocket Pistols by Patrick of Liverpool. With sighted octagonal barrels signed ‘Patrick Liverpool’ in gothic script, fitted with side mounted steel ramrod. Profusely engraved box-lock actions, decorated with scrolling foliage throughout, signed ‘Patrick’ within an oval to the left, surrounded by stands of arms. French cocks, fitted with sliding safety catches, unusual waterproof pans. Deeply chequered swelling butts, with vacant circular escutcheons, steel trigger guards, decorated with a shield surrounded by foliage on the bow. A most unusual pair of pistols, these would be ideal to case up.

Patrick [1780-1830]
