A Naval Dirk with a Bowie Type Blade. Single edged blade with ‘clipped’ point, simple steel cross-guard, spirally grooved bone grip, with brass collar and pommel with castellated edge and engraved with an anchor entwined with a stylised fish biting flukes and wrapped round the shaft, the anchor has a rope streaming to one side and the shaft is topped by a ‘crown’. The wooden sheath is made of two-pieces and tipped with a brass chap and top collar, it has an inset brass belt loop.
