An 1822 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword. With slightly curved single edged blade, cut with a fuller, double edged towards the point, the forte etched BLAMEY CHARRING CROSS LONDON, the blade etched with scrolling foliage and ROYAL ELTHORNE LIGHT INFANTRY and also with the original owners initials, AJCW. Brass hilt of regulation pattern in untouched condition comprising pierced bars incorporating crowned VR cypher and with hinged inner-guard wire bound fish-skin grip and original bullion sword-knot, in original steel scabbard with two suspension rings.
