A fine 16 bore percussion holster pistol built for the East India Government in 1871. The blued barrel is struck with Birmingham inspector€s marks and Tower of London military proof marks, and the bore still retains its original bright polish. The walnut fullstock is struck with the Birmingham inspector€s mark, the stockmakers "B. WOODWARD & SONS€ and the Birmingham E.I.G. storekeeper€s stamp. The colour case hardened lock is stamped Birmingham 1871 and with a crowned broad arrow above E.I.G. together with a Birmingham inspector€s stamp. The pistol is fitted with regulation brass mounts, a swivel ramrod and lanyard ring.

Notes:

This pistol is from a group discovered in unissued condition in the 1960€s and is preserved in almost mint condition and retains virtually all its original finish.
