A Miniature Helm, A copy of the PRANKH HELM in Vienna (Inv. B.74, Waffensammlung, Vienna). Made by H. Russel Robinson, of riveted iron plates.

From the Kennard collection sld at Christies. 


Notes:

‘The Prankh Helm’; German, 14th Century. The great helm would probably have been used in the tournament rather than in warfare. Nevertheless its basically flat-topped shape and form of construction had much in common with earlier warlike great helms dating from the 13th and early 14th centuries.
