A Large Flintlock Tap-Action Pistol by Welch & Keene & Co. With round turn-off barrels, border engraved brass action engraved with a stand of arms and foliage to the right and signed 'Welch, Keene & Co' inside an oval to the left, engraved thumb-piece safety catch also locking the steel, swelling chequered butt, in good clean order overall.

Merchants & Factors, Birmingham, 1803-8. Marked guns 'London'. Other 'London' guns of c. 1800-1810 are signed Welch, Keen & Cash', probably a combination of William Welch, John William Keen (factors) and James Cash (gunmaker) of Birmingham.
