A German Halberd, Late 16th Century. The first with medial ridge extending to the point of the leaf-shaped blade on both sides traces of etching on both sides (some lamination and minor damage), a hooked projection on each side beneath, sharply pointed crescentic axe-blade pieced with ‘M W’ and beak-shaped fluke, the latter struck with maker's mark, faceted tapering socket.
