A Flintlock Officers Pistol by Clark of London. With sighted octagonal barrel signed in gold along the top flat, ‘CLARK HOLBORN LONDON’ and fitted with rear-sight towards the rear, gold touch-hole, profusely engraved tang, signed, stepped, bevelled lock with waterproof pan, full-stocked in walnut, cut with chequering at the grip, engraved steel mounts comprising trigger guard, decorated with a shield surrounded by foliage on the bow, pineapple finial, turned ramrod pipes and horn-tipped ramrod.

Wattell Brother of Thomas, apprenticed to John Clark 1770; free of Gunmakers Co., 1785. Took livery, 1798. Gunmaker, 133 Holborn within Bars [High Holborn] 1785-97; 43 High Holborn, 1797-1815.
