A Flintlock Blunderbuss Pistol by Waters & Gill, London. With three-stage octagonal to round barrel, belled at the muzzle, stamped with London proofs and Waters barrel smith mark, engraved â€˜LONDONâ€™ along the top flat and embellished scrolling foliage towards the breech, signed border engraved lock decorated with sprays of foliage, full-stocked in walnut with raised apron around the tang, brass mounts comprising side-plate, engraved long eared butt cap with grotesque mask, trigger guard decorated with a flow ahead on the bow and acorn finial and turned ramrod pipes, with original brass tipped ramrod with worm.

Name and â€˜Londonâ€™ appears on guns of c.177-80. Probably partnership of John Waters of Birmingham (1766-88) and Thomas Gill who started in Birmingham and worked in London, c.1780-1800.
