With three-stage octagonal to round barrel, swelling at the muzzle, fitted below with a spring bayonet that is released by the trigger guard, side mounted horn-tipped ramrod with worm, engraved box-lock action, signed ‘Richardson’ in script surrounded by a wreath to the left, and ‘Manchester’ on an oval surrounded by arms to the right, fitted with a sliding safety catch, bevelled grip with vacant shield shaped escutcheon, steel trigger guard decorated with foliage on the bow.
