With tapering double-edge blade of flattened oval section, the blade struck with a cross and a star on both sides and an inscription on the blade, translated, means 'EN TOLEDO'. In a stylised font, which they stamped on the hot metal using just two 'dies’, pierced and engraved cup-hilt depicting masks surrounded by scrolling foliage, this is a particularly good example as the inside of the guard is also engraved (out are left plain) slender recurving foliate quillons, fluted quillon block, engraved ovoid pommel with button and wire bound spirally fluted grip.
