A Cased Colt Model 1849 London Pocket, No. 4036 For 1854. With blued octagonal sighted barrel with London address (retaining traces of blue to the top of the barrel) cylinder retaining crisp scene, case-hardened frame stamped ‘Colt’s Patent’ on the left side, case-hardened hammer and rammer, blued trigger guard and back strap(retaining traces) varnished figured rounded grips, matching numbers in nice clean condition; in fitted oak case lined in blue velvet with full accessories including James Dixon & Sons flask, steel bullet mould stamped ‘Colt’s Patent’, the interior of the lid with Directions for Loading and Cleaning label, signed with what appears to be the original owners name, ‘J. C. Bowing’ (possibly) the exterior with shaped vacant brass escutcheon, London proof marks.
