A Superb Cased Pair of Percussion Officers Pistols Mapplebeck & Lowe. With sighted octagonal barrels retaining much original finish, foliate engraved, case-hardened breeches with single gold lines and platinum vents, signed border engraved locks decorated with sprays of foliage, the cocks decorated en suite, full-stocked in walnut, cut with chequering at the grips, with horn fore-ends, engraved steel mounts retaining nearly all of their original finish, with stylised pineapple finials, engraved butt caps with traps, and blued belt hooks: expertly cased in a contemporary pistol box, re-lined in blue baise and fitted with all accessories, including a three-way powder flask, turn screw and nipple key, oil bottle and bullet mould. The exterior of the box with brass corners and circular brass escutcheon. A nice set in superb order.
