A Cased 32-Bore D.B. Percussion Box-Lock Pistol signed ‘Purdey London’, Circa 1830, ex Keith Neale. With round barrels each engraved with a band of foliage at the muzzle, blued nipples marked ‘L’ and ‘R’, signed scroll engraved action with blued safety-catches (one hammer spur repaired), scroll engraved trigger guard, finely chequered walnut butt, silver escutcheon, engraved silver band around the pommel, domed scroll engraved iron butt-trap with hinged cover, and stirrup ramrod: ion fitted brass-bound mahogany case lined in green velvet, with accessories, the lid with trade label of Manton & Co, No. 10 All Bazaar, Calcutta, Birmingham proof marks.
Probably bought in the white by Purdey as part of an export order for India.
