1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Officers Sabre by Hawkes Moseley & Co.
With very curved oriental style unfullered blade that is double edged for the last 8” and retains most of its original polish. Exaggerated P shaped chamfered knuckle bow. The shagreen covered grip has bands of silver wire and remains in perfect condition. The steel scabbard retains its original wood liners and is engraved with a shield containing Hawkes Moseley & Co, Piccadilly, London. Circa 1808-1810
An excellent example of a 1796 Officers sabre with a fashionably curved blade.
