With round turn-off barrels engraved around the muzzles, stamped at the breech with Birmingham proofs and tombstone marks, line engraved box-lock actions, signed ‘SMITH’ within ovals surrounded by stands of arms to the left and ‘LONDON’ within ovals surrounded by stands of arms to the right, sliding thumb-piece safety catches that also lock the pans, fold down triggers, slab sided walnut butts with chequered back straps, and unusually shield shaped escutcheons on the butts.
