A Martini Henry I.C.1. Cavalry Carbine, Dated 1878. With browned sighted barrel retained by two barrel bands, calibrated folding adjustable back-sight, dated action with ‘V.R’ crowned over ‘Enfield’ and ‘I.C.1.’, figured butt and fore-stock (minor nibbles to the woodwork), the former stamped with inspector’s marks on the right side, regulation steel mounts stamped with War Department and inspector’s marks and steel ramrod, probably original (some wear and rust patination overall) a nice example.
