A Scarce Side by Side Flintlock Pocket Pistol by Calvert of Leeds. With round turn-off barrels, decorated with foliate bands at the muzzles and stamped ‘2’ and ‘3’ towards the breech, rounded border engraved breech block, struck beneath with Birmingham proofs, border engraved box-lock action decorated with stands of arms and signed ‘CALVERT’ within can oval to the left and ‘LEEDS’ within an oval to the right, fitted with sliding thumb-piece safety catch that also locks the pan, chequered rounded butt with silver escutcheon engraved with the original owners initials, ‘H. B.’ And silver lions-head grotesque mask.
