A Scarce Life Guards Flintlock Pistol in the Light Dragoon Style. by D.Egg. With tapering round barrel struck with Ordnance proofs at the breech, plain tang struck with Crowned inspection mark at the tail, double border line engraved lock engraved with a Crowned GR and signed ‘D. EGG’ across the tail, full-stocked in walnut with raised moulding around the tang, the stock struck with various inspection marks, and dated ‘1786’ regulation brass mounts comprising side-plate, butt cap, trigger guard and ramrod pipes, brass tipped ramrod.
Note:
The Life Guards were raised as mounted troops by Charles 2nd after the Civil War.
