An Outstanding Pair of Flintlock Officers Pistols by Knubley of London. With large sighted round brass barrels, signed ‘KNUBLEY Charing Cross LONDON ‘ along the tip flats and decorated with a geometric band at the breech, beautifully engraved steel tangs fitted with rear-sights, border engraved stepped brass locks, fitted with sliding safety catches and decorated with star bursts at the tails, steel cocks and frizens, full-stocked in walnut, cut with fine chequering at the grips, with tutaneg mounts comprising long-eared butt caps, trigger guards decorated with flowers on the bows and pineapple finials, turned ramrod pipes and horn tipped ramrods. An extraordinarily large pair of pistols.
