An Unusually Cased Pair of Tap Action Pistols, unsigned. With round turn-off barrels, numbered ‘1’ to ‘4’ respectively and also numbered on the breech, border line engraved actions, stamped with London proofs, frames finely engraved with stands of arms and ovals, the ovals to the right are engraved ‘LONDON’ the ovals on the left panels are left vacant, fitted with sliding safety catches that also lock the pans, swelling flared slab-sided walnut butts with vacant silver escutcheons: in an unusual case designed to transport the pistols, with a large steel loop that could be padlocked to close the case.
