A 1796 Heavy Cavalry Dress Sword

A 1796 Pattern Heavy Cavalry Troopers Dress Sword. With tapering double edged blade of flattened hexagonal section at the forte, etched with stands of arms and foliage, unusual in the fact that it has a solid section as opposed to being cut with a central fuller, fine gilt hilt comprising guard, single down-turned globular quillon, knuckle bow and pommel, wire bound grip, complete with sword knott and in its orignal brass mounted leather scabbard engraved with cutlers name at the throat;
